Maria Cervantes serves as the Executive Director of Raíces Sagradas, where she leads with a deep commitment to healing, dignity, and community-centered care. Originally from Mexico, Maria brings a diverse professional background that includes Accounting as well as extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations in areas such as interpreting, translating, insurance billing, and community engagement as many of these areas relate to mental health. Her dedication to service is further reflected in her long-standing volunteerism, including serving in multiple nonprofit roles and as a board member.

Maria’s life path evolved as she discovered her true calling: supporting individuals and families as they navigate trauma, reclaim their inner strength, and access opportunities to thrive. Her journey with Raíces Sagradas began on the Board of Directors, where her compassion, integrity, and unwavering dedication to service quickly stood out. What began as volunteer leadership grew into a profound calling—one that now guides her in overseeing the organization’s full operations and expanding its reach and impact throughout the community.

At the core of Maria’s leadership is a deep belief in the power and sacredness of family. She understands that strong, healthy families are built through self-healing, self-awareness, and the courage to break harmful cycles. Guided by these values, Maria works tirelessly to challenge stigma surrounding mental health, confront cycles of violence and misinformation, and create safe, accessible, and culturally grounded spaces for healing.

Through advocacy, education, and trauma-informed support, Maria envisions a community where individuals and families feel empowered to rewrite their stories, strengthen their relationships, and build futures rooted in hope and resilience. Her work at Raíces Sagradas is more than a professional role—it is a mission to inspire transformation, uplift families, and plant seeds of change that will continue to grow for generations to come.
